Ingredients

  • 2 large cooking apples, peeled, cored, and chopped
  • 6 1/2 oz blackberries
  • fresh juice of 1 lemon
  • 1/2 -2/3 cup sugar
  • 1 1/2 cups all purpose flour
  • 1 teas baking powder
  • 3 tblsp ground almonds
  • 5 tblsp unsalted butter, cubed
  • 3 tblsp rolled oats
  • greased, medium pie dish

Preparation

Step 1

1. Preheat oven to 375.

2. Mix the apples, blackberries, lemon juice, and 3-4 tblsp sugar to taste in the prepared pie dish.

3. Mix the flour, baking powder, and ground almonds together in a large bowl. Add the butter and rub in with your fingertips until the mixture resembles fine bread crumbs. Stir in 1/3 cup of the sugar and the oats

4. Spread the crumble over the fruit and bake in the preheated oven for about 30 minutes, or until the top is golden brown. Serve with custard, vanilla ice cream, or yogurt.
