Ingredients
- sauce:
- 1 1/2 lb ground beef
- 1/2 c onion,chopped
- 2 cloves garlic
- 1 tbs salt
- 1/4 tsp fennel
- 2 tbs sugar
- 1 1/2 tsp dried basil
- 1/4 tsp pepper
- 1/4 c fresh parsley, chopped OR 1/8 c dried parsley
- 4 c whole tomatoes, canned
- 2 cans tomato paste (6oz)
- 15 oz ricotta cheese
- 1 egg
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1 lb mozzarella, grated
- 3/4 c parmesan, grated
- 1 pkg noodles

Preparation
Step 1
1) cook noodles w/ 1 tbs salt 25 minutes, drain, rinse
separate noodles immediately, lay on paper towels to dry.
2) put layer of sauce on bottom of 13x9 pan. layer noodles 4 across. should overlap some. put 1 1/2 c sauce over noodles, sprinkle 1/4 c Parmesan, 1/2 ricotta, 1/3 mozzarella. repeat until all are used up. should have 3 layers of noodles.
3) bake, covered 25 minutes at 375; uncover, bake 20-25 minutes more. let stand 10 minutes.
