Ingredients
- 1 Pillsbury refrigerated crust, softened as directed on box
- 1 1/2 c sugar
- 3 T all purpose flour
- 3/4 t instant coffee granules or crystals
- 1/4 t ground cinnamon
- dash salt
- 4 eggs
- 1/2 c buttermilk
- 1 1/2 t vanilla
- 1/2 c butter or margarine, softened
- 2 oz unsweetened baking chocolate, melted
- 1/4 c slivered almonds
- *to substitute for buttermilk, use 1t vinegar or lemon juice plus milk to make 1/2 cup.

Step 1
Heat oven to 400. Make pie crust as directed on box for one crust pie in a 9" glass pie pan.
In med bowl, mix sugar, flour, instant coffee, cinnamon, and salt.
In large bowl, beat eggs with mixer on high speed until light in color. Beat in sugar mixture. Beat in buttermilk, vanilla, butter and chocolate until well combined. (filling may look curdled) Pour into pie crust and sprinkle with almonds.
Bake 25-30 min or until center is set and crust is deep golden brown. After 15 min of baking cover edges with foil to prevent excess browning. Cool completely one hour.
