Ingredients
- 8 cups bowl
- 10 ounces semi-sweet chocolate, chopped
- 5 eggs, separated
- 3 tablespoons creme de cocoa
- 2 tablespoons sugar
- 1 1/2 pints vanilla ice cream
- 1 1/2 pints pink peppermint ice cream

Preparation
Step 1
Line bowl with saran wrap. Melt chocolate in double boiler til smooth. Remove from fire. Whisk in yolks and creme de cocoa. On low speed, beat whites til foamy. On high speed beat til peaks form. Add sugar gradually til stiff. Stir 1/3 whites into chocolate and then chocolate into whites til blended.
Spoon mousse into bowl and freeze 1 hour. Spread over bowl to form thin shell. Return to freezer til firm.
Soften vanilla ice cream and spread. Return to freezer til firm. Soften peppermint and spread into center. Smooth top. Cover with foil and freeze. Several hours before serving, invert on platter and smooth
