Strawberry Shortcake

Ingredients

• 1 cup flour
• 1/2 tsp salt
• 2 tsp baking powder
• 1/3 up sugar
• 1 tsp vanilla
• 1/4 cup butter
• 1 egg
• 1/2 cup milk
• 1 qt strawberries, sliced and sweetened
• Whipped topping

Preparation

Step 1

Preheat oven to 350 degree

Lightly spray 8X8 baking dish with low fat vegetable spray

In large bowl, mix together flour, salt, baking powder and sugar

Add vanilla and butter and mix well

In a separate bowl, beat egg, add milk and mix together

Stir in rest of ingredients

Pour into baking dish

Sprinkle top with 2 tbsp of sugar

Bake for 25 to 30 minutes until golden brown

Set aside to cool

Cut into serving pieces

Top with sweetened strawberries and whipped topping
