Beefy Chili Soup

In addition ot the contents of the jar, you will need to add the following ingredients:
2 pounds ground beef
6 cupw water
3 cans (14oz) tomato juice
Beefy Chili Soup
Place the kidney, navy, and black beans in a medium sized bowl, cover with 6 cups boiling water, and soak 8 hours or overnight. In a medium sized pot, brown the ground beef. Drain and rinse the soaked beans, and add them to the pot with 6 cups fresh water and contents of the seasoning packet. Bring to a boil, then reduce the heat to low. Cover and simmer for 1 1/2 to 2 hours, or until the beans are tender. Stir the soup occasionally as it simmers. Add the tomato juice and return to a boil. Reduce the ehat, cover, and simmer another 15 minutes. Serve hot. Refrigerate andy leftovers in an airtight container for up to 1 week.

- Premixed Seasoning Packed:
- 1/2 teas garlic powder
- 1 teas salt
- 2 teas ground cumin
- 2 tblsp dried cilantro
- 1 teas sugar
- 2 tblsp chili powder
- 1/3 cup dried minced onion
- 1/2 cup black beans
- 1/2 cup navy beans
- 1/2 cup red kidney beans

Step 1
1. Wash and thoroughtly dry a 1 pint wide mouth canning jar.
2. Place all of the seasonings in a plastic sandwich bag.
3. Layer the ingredients in the jar, pressing firmly with a flat bottomed object, such as a tart tamper or the bottom of a narrow glass, after each addition. Make layers as level as possible. Set plastic bag of seasoning mix on top.
4. Secure the lid, and decorate as desired. Attach the instructions for making the soup found below.
