Ingredients
- 1/2 C. shortening
- 1 stick butter, softened
- 3/4 C. sugar
- 3/4 C. light brown sugar
- 2 eggs
- 2 1/4 C. flour
- 1 tsp. baking soda
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1 tsp. vanilla extract
- 2 1/4 C. semisweet chocolate chips

Step 1
Using an electric mixer, cream first four ingredients together until creamy. Add eggs and beat 1 minute. Add flour, baking soda, and salt. Add vanilla and then stir in chocolate chips. Chill for 10 minutes in refrigerator. Using ice cream scoop, drop dough onto two parchment paper-lined baking sheets. Bake at 350 degrees for 10-12 minutes, or until edges are brown; let cool.
