Ingredients

  • 2 1/2 Cups White or Wheat Bread Cubes
  • 1 1/4 Cups Warm Milk
  • 1/4 Cup Sugar
  • 1/2 Tsp. Cinnamon
  • 1/2 Tsp. Nutmeg
  • 1/2 Tsp. Vanilla
  • 2 Eggs, Beaten
  • 1/2 Cup Raisins
  • VANILLA SAUCE
  • 1/2 cup Sugar
  • 1/2 cup firmly packed Brown Sugar
  • 1/2 cup Whipping Cream
  • 1/2 cup Butter
  • 1 tsp. Vanilla

Preparation

Step 1

Heat oven to 350 degrees. Grease a 1 qt. casserole dish. In greased casserole, combine bread cubes and milk. In a medium bowl, combine sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, vanilla and eggs; mix well. Stir in raisins. Add egg mixture to bread cube mixture; mix well. Bake at 350 degrees for 45 to 50 minutes or until pudding is set.

VANILLA SAUCE

In a small saucepan, combine sugar, 1/2 cup brown sugar, whipping cream and 1/2 cup butter. Cook over medium heat until mixture boils; stirring occasionally. Stir in vanilla. Serve warm sauce over pudding.
Store remaining Bread Pudding in refrigerator.
