Ingredients
- 2 cups cream, scalded
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 2 tablespoons cornstarch
- 3 tablespoons flour
- 3 egg yolks, slightly beaten
- 3 tablespoons butter
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 2 teaspoons vanilla
- 3 egg whites
- 3 tablespoons sugar
- 1 cup chocolate chips
- 1 pie shell

Preparation
Step 1
Scald cream. Mix sugar, cornstarch and flour. Add to cream. Cook until thick and smooth stirring occasionally.
Mix a little of cream mixture into yolks. Then add to cream mixture. Cook 2 minutes until eggs are cooked. Add butter, salt and vanilla and mix well. Cool slightly and add chips. Mix gently. Pour into 9 inch pie shell. After cooled add topping by whipping egg whites, 3 tbsp sugar, into meringue into 9 inch pie shell. After cooled add topping by whipping egg whites, 3 tbsp. sugar, into meringue
