Ingredients
- 3/4 C natural cocoa, sifted
- 1/2 t baking soda
- 1/4 t salt
- 1/2 C unsalted butter, melted
- 1/2 C boiling water
- 1 1/3 C sugar
- 2 lg eggs, lightly beaten
- 1 t van x
- 1 1/3 C all- purpose flour
- 3/4 C walnuts
- 2 oz bittersweet or dark chocolate, chopped

Step 1
Preheat the oven to 350. Coat a 9" square baking pan w/ cooking spray and set aside.
In a mixing bowl, whisk together the cocoa, baking soda, salt, butter, and the boiling water. Mix in the sugar, eggs, and vanilla. Fold in the flour until just combined w/ the wet ingredients. Spread the batter in the prepared pan and sprinkle the nuts and chocolate over the batter.
Bake for 30 mins or until toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Cool completely on a wire rack. Cut into 16 squares.
