Ingredients
- 1 medium onion chopped
- 1 1/2 tablespoons butter or margarine
- 12 ounce Bennett's Chili Sauce
- 6 ounces of water
- 1/2 tablespoon lemon juice or vinegar
- 4 ounces brown sugar
- 3 drops Tabasco
- 1 pound salami, cut in to 1/8 inch slices

Preparation
Step 1
Saute onion in butter until soft. Add Chili sauce,water,lemon juice,brown sugar and Tabasco.
Simmer until mixture is reduced and thickened. Arrange salami slices in foil lined pan 13x9. Pour sauce over the salami and let stand for 3 hours. Bake in preheated 300 oven basting and turning frequently for 2 to 2 1/2 hours until salami is candied. Can serve with cocktail rye and Dijon Mustard.
