Ingredients

  • 4 (4-6oz) salmon fillets
  • 1/4 c peanut oil
  • 2 T balsamic vinegar
  • 2 T chopped green onions
  • 2 T soy sauce
  • 1 T grated ginger
  • 1.5 t brown sugar
  • 1 t sesame oil
  • 1/2 t red chile flakes (or more to taste)
  • 1 clove garlic, finely chopped
  • Salt, to taste

Preparation

Step 1

1. Arrange fillets in a wide shallow dish.
2. Whisk together peanut oil, vinegar, green onions, soy sauce, ginger, sugar, sesame oil, chile flakes, garlic, & salt in a small bowl to make marinade.
3. Pour marinade over fillets evenly.
4. Cover dish w/plastic wrap & refrigerate for 4-6 hours.
5. Remove salmon from marinade & place on a well-oiled grill, ~5" from the coals.
6. Grill, flipping once, until fish is just cooked through & flakes easily w/a fork, about 8-10 minutes per inch of thickness, measured @ the thickest part of the fillet.
7. (Alternative: wrap each fillet in foil to form a packet & cook over medium heat for 20-25 minutes.
