Ingredients

1 bag caramels 14oz
2/3 cup evaporated milk
1 package chocolate cake mix
3/4 cup butter or margarine, melted
1 cup chopped nuts
1 cup chocolate chips plus more if you want

Preparation

Step 1

MELT caramels with 1/3 cup milk and set aside.

COMBINE cake mix, margarine, 1/3 cup milk, and nuts. Mix until it holds together. Pour 1/2 of the batter into 13x9 pan and bake at 350 for about 6 minutes. Let cool for a few minutes. Spread melted caramels over the cake. Sprinkle with chocolate chips. Cover the chips with rest of the dough. Bake 15-18 minutes. Cool in refrigerator and cut into squares.
