Ingredients

  • 1-3

    -5lb. Eye of round roast

  • Spicy Sauce (recipe follows) :

  • 2-cups ketchup

  • 2-cups water

  • 2-lg. onions, sliced

  • ⅓-cup red wine vinegar

  • ¼-cup brown sugar, packed

  • 2-TBS. worcestshire sauce

  • 1-tsp. dry mustard

  • 1-tsp. dried oregano

  • 1-tsp .pepper

  • ½-tsp. garlic powder

  • ½

    - tsp. chili powder

  • ½

    - tsp. ground cloves (or a little less)

  • ¼

    - tsp. ground nutmeg

  • ¼-tsp. hot sauce

  • 1

    - Bay leaf

Directions

Cut roast in half and place in a slo-cooker. Pour sauce over roast . Cook on HIGH for 4-5 hours. Cool slightly and cut into slices. Return to slo-cooker and cook 1-hour more. Can be cooked in the oven, at 325 degrees for 31/2- hours, but the slo-cooker works best.
