  • 4 polish sausages
  • 2 tsp. butter
  • 2-11 oz. cans condensed split pea soup
  • 11 oz. milk
  • 11 oz. water
  • 1 stalk celery, thinly sliced
  • 1 med. onion, thinly sliced
  • 1 sprig parsley
  • 1 bay leaf

Preparation

Step 1

Place sausages in cold water. Bring to boil, simmer 10 min. Drain. Over low heat, pan-fry sausages in butter till browned. Remove, keep warm, save drippings. Empty pea soup into a different saucepan; add milk and water a little at a time, stirring till smooth. Saute celery, onion, parsley, and bay leaf in sausage drippings till onion is crisp. Add to soup, blend. Place sausages on top of soup mixture. Reheat to a gentle boil. To serve sausage: remove from soup, cut into slices, divide into each serving of soup.
