  • sliced sour dough bread (24oz)
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 C half & half
  • 2 tsp vanilla
  • 1/2 tsp nutmeg
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon
  • 3/4 C soft butter
  • 1-1/3 C brown sugar
  • 3 TBL dark corn syrup
  • 1-1/2 C walnuts (chopped)
  • powdered sugar

Preparation

Step 1

cut sliced french bread in 1" strips -
enough to fit in a 9X13" pan

beat next 5 ingredients together

pour over bread

let sit overnite

TOPPING:
combine next 4 ingredients
spread over bread & egg mixture

bake @350 for 50 min

sprinkle w/ powdered sugar before serving
