Ingredients
- 3 cups medium macaroni, shells or elbow
- 2 quarts water, salted to taste
- 2 cups cheddar cheese, cubed
- 1 cup celery, chopped
- 1/2 cup green pepper, chopped
- 1/4 cup red pepper, chopped
- 1/4 cup onion, chopped
- 1 cup sour cream
- 1 cup mayonnaise or salad dressing
- 1/4 cup milk
- 1/2 cup sweet pickle relish
- 4 tbsp. apple cider vinegar
- 1 tsp. prepared mustard
- 3/4 tsp. salt
Preparation
Step 1
Cook macaroni in 2 quarts of boiling salted water until tender. Drain and cool. Toss macaroni with cheese, celery, green and red peppers and onion.
In a separate bowl, combine sour cream, mayonnaise and milk. Stir in relish, vinegar, mustard and salt. Add to macaroni, toss and cover. Chill several hours.
