Ingredients
- Oven Temperature: 400 degrees
- 3/4 cup sugar
- 2 tbsp. flour
- 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 5 cups sliced apples
- 1/4 cup water
- butter
- 1 cup flour
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 3 tbsp. shortening
- 3/4 cup sour cream

Step 1
Combine sugar, flour, cinnamon and salt with apples. Place in a 1 1/2 qt. casserole. Sprinkle with water. Dot top with pats of butter. Cover with foil and bake 15 minutes. Sift together flour, sugar, baking powder and salt. Cut in shortening. Stir in sour cream. Drop by spoonfulls on hot apples. At this point, cobbler may be refrigerated and kept for later baking. Bake uncovered 25 to 30 minutes. Serve warm. Amount: 6 servings.
