Ingredients
- Puffs:
- 2 sheets puff pastry (1 box)
- 1 egg
- 1/4 cup milk
- Rock sugar
- Filling:
- 1 cup milk
- 1/4 cup flour
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 teaspoon almond flavoring
- 1 cup butter, softened
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 1/2 teaspoon salt

Step 1
Make Puffs:
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Thaw both sheets of puff pastry for about 20 minutes. Open sheets and press out crease slightly with rolling pin. Cut down crease line forming three strips. Cu each strip into seven pieces. Mix 1 egg with 1/4 cup milk. Brush over tops of puff pastry. Dip into rock sugar. Place on a greased sheet pan and bake until lightly browned, about 15-20 minutes. Cool and slice in half.
Make Filling:
Combine 1 cup milk and flour in a small saucepan. Cook on medium hat for about 20 minutes, or until thick, stirring constantly. Let cool and pour into a large mixing bowl. Add sugar, almond flavoring, butter, vanilla, and salt. Beat until fluffy. Pipe or spread filling onto the bottom half of the puffs. Top with the other half.
