By

My Daddy has always smoked meats and there is nothing like it. My favorite is his brisket. It melts in your mouth. He has shown me a thousand times how to do it but mine is never like his but I will keep trying!!!

Preparation

Step 1

Trim most of the fat from the brisket. Sprinkle brisket with liquid smoke and rub into the meat. Then liberally coat the meat with barbeque rub, rubbing it into the meat. Create a foil pocket for the brisket and allow to marinate overnight.

Create a low fire with wood and charcoal and place brisket over fire for 4-6 hours depending on the size. When meat is tender to the touch, remove from foil and allow to brown a bit. Slice and serve with barbeque sauce if desired.
