Ingredients

  • 1 lb lean ground beef
  • 1 large onion, chopped
  • 1 medium green pepper, chopped
  • 1 can (15 oz) tomato sauce
  • 1 can (14-1/2) diced tomatoes, drained
  • 1 tsp ground cumin
  • 1 tsp chili powder
  • 1/4 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 2-2/3 c cooked brown rice

Step 1

In a large skillet, cook beef, onion and pepper over medium heat 6-8 minutes or until beef is not longer pink and onion is tender, breaking up beef into crumbles; drain.

Stir in tomato sauce, tomatoes and seasonings; bring to a boil. Add rice; heat through, stirring occasionally.
