Ingredients
- 1 lb. lean ground beef
- 1 lg. egg, lightly beaten
- 1/2 c. finely chopped onion
- 1/2 c. finely chopped green pepper
- 1/2 c. cracker meal
- 1/4 c. ketchup
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 1/4 tsp. pepper
- Barbecue Sauce
- 1 small onion, finely chopped
- 2 TBSP. olive oil
- 1 1/4 c. tomato puree'
- 1 c. water
- 1/4 c. cider vinegar
- 2 TBSP. prepared mustard
- 1 tsp. brown sugar
- 1 TBSP. Worcestershire
- 1/2 tsp. chili powder
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1/8 tsp. garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp. hot sauce

Preparation
Step 1
Combine first 8 ingredients; shape into 20 (2") balls. Plae on a lightly greased rack in broiler pan. Bake @ 350 degrees for 20 minutes. Remove from oven. Add meatballs to barbecue sauce, stirring gently to coat all sides.
To make sauce:
Cook onion in olive oil in a saucepan over medium heat,stirring constantly, until tender. Add tomato puree and next 8 ingredients; bring to a boil. Reduce heat, and simmer 45 minutes, stirring occasionally. Stir in hot sauce; cook an additional 15 minutes.
