  • Caramel:
  • 1 cup brown sugar (7 oz)
  • 1 cup white sugar (7 oz.)
  • 1 cup butter
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 2 cups flour (8.8 oz)
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp soda
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 3 cups oatmeal (10.8 oz)
  • 1/3 - 1/2 cup milk
  • 14 oz bag caramels
  • 12 oz bag choc chips

Step 1

Cream sugars and butter. Add eggs and vanilla. Add flour, salt, soda, baking powder. Mix in oatmeal. Put 1/2 the dough on bottom of 9x13 pan. Bake at 350 for 20 min. Heat milk and caramels until all the caramels are melted. I do this in microwave. How much milk you add to caramels is up to you. If I remember correctly, I added somewhere between the 1/3 and 1/2 cup milk. It is easy to overbake the cookies the second time. Remove cookie and let cool about 15 min. Sprinkle chips over cookie dough and drizzle with caramel. Drop remaining dough on top with a tsp. evenly and spread across top. Bake (careful it is easy to overbake) at 350 for 25 to 30 min. Cut while warm. Allow to cool and then cut again.
