Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons ameri color gel paste food color in bright white (if making white)

Details

Preparation

Step 1

1. In a microwave safe bowl, microwave the candy coating in 25 second intervals, stirring after each interval. Repeat until melted and smooth.

2. If making white clay, combine the corn syrup and bright white gel paste, and microwave for 10 seconds; otherwise heat only the corn syrup. Add the corn syrup to the candy coating and stir until blended and thick, about 30 strokes. Turn the clay out onto wax paper or plastic wrap and flatten it until it is about 1/2 inch thick. Let dry out for about 1 hour.

3. Knead the clay until it is smooth and pliable, about 1 minutes. Put it in a well-sealed plastic zip top bag. Let the clay sit overnight at room temperature before using.

4. The clay will keep sealed in a plastic zip top bag indefinitely. To soften hardened clay, microwave for 7 to 10 seconds and knead until soft and shiny.
