  • 1 lb. butter
  • 2 cups white sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1 bag of chocolate chips
  • 1 bag of pecans (optional)

Preparation

Step 1

Melt butter in saucepan on medium/low heat.
Add sugar and let it melt.
Add vanilla and water.
Bring ingredients to a slow boil stirring occasionally.
Cook ingredients for about 25 - 30 minutes until a caramel colour.
Take a cookie sheet, line with foil, place pecans evenly on the foil.
When caramel is ready, pour over pecans evenly.
When caramel has settled and still hot pour chocolate chips over caramel evenly and wait until chocolate becomes shiny and has melted, then smooth evenly over caramel.
Place in the fridge until hard, approximately 1-2 hours.
Once candy is hard break it up into small pieces and place in a continer for storage in the fridge.
