Ingredients

  • 2/3 cup chopped onion
  • 1 tablespoon butter or margarine melted
  • 2/3 cup chopped green pepper
  • 1 tomato, peeled, and chopped
  • 2 teaspoons jalpeno peppers chopped
  • 1/2 cup mild taco sauce divided
  • 4 cups peas (canned)
  • 1 (15 1/2 ounce) can Mexican style chili beans undrained.
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

Preparation

Step 1

Saute onion in a skillet until crisp-tender.

Add green pepper, tomatoes, jalapeno peppers and 1/4 cup taco sauce, stirring well. Set aside.

Combine peas, chilis, beans and 1/4 cup taco sauce, stirring well. Spoon into a 2 quart dish.

Top with vegetble mixture.

Bake at 375 degrees for 25 to 35 minutes.

Sprinkle with cheese.

Bake additional 5 minutes
