  • 3 sticks unsalted butter
  • 2 cups of flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 1/2 cups of sugar
  • 1 teaspoon of vanilla
  • 6 large eggs
  • C sugar for dusting

Preparation

Step 1

1. Preheat oven to 350.
2. Butter a loaf pan (big).
3. Whisk flour and salt in a medium bowl and set aside.
4. Put butter, granulated sugar and vanilla in a bowl and with paddle attachment mix on medium-low speed until pale and fluffy (3-5 minutes).
5. Add eggs, one at a time, beating until combined.
6. Reduce speed to low and add flour until well combined.
7. Spoon batter into prepared loaf pan and smooth with a spatula.
8. Bake rotating pan until cake is golden (50-55 minutes).
9. Let cool on a wire rack 10-15 minutes.
10. Turn out onto a rack and let cool completely.
11. Before serving, dust with c sugar.
12. Can be stored at room temperature wrapped for up to 3 days.
