Ellie's Peanut Butter Bars

Ingredients
- 1 cup crunchy peanut butter
- 2/3 cup butter or margarine, softenend
- 1 tsp vanilla
- 2 cups firmly packed light brown sugar (1 box)
- 3 eggs
- 1 cup flower
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 3/4 cup sifted 10x sugar
- 2 tsp water (or more if needed)
- 1/4 cup semisweet choclate chips
- 1 tsp shortening (or margarine)

Step 1
Combine peanut butter, butter and vanilla in a large bowl, beat wiht electric beater until well-blended, beat in sugar until light and fluffy, beat in eggs on at a time.
Stir in flour and salt just until well blended, spread batter in greased 13x9 baking pan (or use pam)
Bake 350 degrees for 35 min or until center springs back when lightly touched with fingertip. (may need another 10-15 min). Remove pan from oven to wire rack and cool slightly.
Combine 10x sugar with 2 tsp water (or more water) stir until smooth, spread all over cookies in pan.
Melt choc hips with shortening over simmering water, drizzle over the white glaze for a black and white pattern.
When cool, using a sharp knife, cut into 36 rectangles.
