Ingredients

  • 3 cups of sugar
  • 1 cup of milk
  • 3 squares of unsweetened chocolate
  • pinch of salt
  • 2 teaspoons of corn syrup
  • 3 tablespoons of butter
  • 1 1/2 teaspoon of vanilla
  • walnuts (optional)

Preparation

Step 1


1. Mix sugar, milk, chocolate, salt and corn syrup in a deep casserole.
2. Cook slowly stirring constantly until sugar is dissolved.
3. Bring to a boil (236 on thermometer) without stirring.
4. Take out and add butter. Cool until 110 degree in a cold water plate.
5. Beat vigorously until the mixture thickens.
6. Spread without delay into a buttered pan and cut in squares.
7. Refrigerate for 10 minutes.
8. Decorate with a half walnut if you want.
9. Keep in a tin pan.
