Ingredients
- 2 bags frozen white pearl onions
- 2 tbs unsalted butter
- 2 tbs flour
- pinch fresh nutmeg
- 1/2 tsp salt
- freshly ground black pepper to taste
- 1 1/2 cups half and half
- 1 1/2 cups shredded carrots

Preparation
Step 1
Cook onions to package directions. Melt butter in saucepan over low heat. Blend in flour and seasonings. Cook over low heat until mixture is smooth and bubbly. Remove from heat. Stir in 1/2 and 1/2. Heat to boiling, stirring constantly. Boil and stir 1 minute. Stir in carrots and cook about 5 minutes longer. Pour sauce over hot onions.
