Ingredients

  • 3/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2/3 cup white sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 3 tbsp. vegetable oil
  • 2/3 cup miniature semisweet chocolate chips
  • 1 1/4 cup hot water

Step 1

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

In an 8" x 8" pan, stir together the flour, white sugar, 1/4 cup of cocoa, baking powder and salt. Add milk and oil, mix well. Mic brown sugar and remaining cocoa. Sprinkle over the batter. Add chocolate chips, lastly pour the hot water over the top.

Bake for 30 - 35 minutes in the preheated oven, until the surface appears dry. The water poured over the top will sink and the batter rise. You will enjoy this delicious cake which makes its own hot fudge sauce. Serve warm with a scoop of ice cream.

You can double the recipe and put in a 9" x 13" pan.
