Ingredients
- 1/2 cup Butter
- 1/2 cup Shortening
- 1/2 cup Sugar
- 1 Egg, beaten
- 1 cup Molasses
- 2 1/2 cup Flour
- 1 1/2 tsp. Baking Soda
- 1 tsp. Cinnamon
- 1 tsp. Ginger
- 1/2 tsp. Cloves
- 1/2 tsp. Salt
- 1 cup Hot Water

Step 1
Cream butter, shortening and sugar. Add beaten egg and molasses. Sift together flour, baking soda, cinnamon, ginger, cloves and salt. Add to creamed mixture. Add hot water and beat until smooth. Bake in a greased shallow pan 35 minutes at 325 degrees.
