- 2 cups sugar
- 3 tablespoons butter. 1 cup light corn syrup
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 2 cup salted peanuts
- 2 teaspoons baking soda
- 1/4 cup water

Step 1
combine sugar, corn syrup, and water in 3 quart heavy saucepan. mix well. cook over medium heat, stirring constantly until sugar dissolves. Stirring frequently, cook until candy thermometer registers 285 degrees. remove from heat. stir in peanuts and butter. stirring constantly, cook to 295 degrees. remove from heat. add vanilla and baking soda. stir quickly to blend, mixture will foam. pour onto greased baking sheet and spread out thin. cool for 5 minutes or just enough to handle. turn candy over. pull to stretch thin as possible. cool thoroughly. break into pieces.
