Ingredients

  • 1 (14 oz.) can asparagus spears
  • 1 loaf thin-sliced white bread (20-22 slices)
  • 1 (8 oz.) pkg. cream cheese, softened
  • 1 (3 oz.) pkg. blue cheese
  • 1 egg, slightly beaten
  • 1 stick butter, melted

Preparation

Step 1

Drain asparagus well. Remove crust from bread; roll each slice flat with rolling pin. Mix cheeses and egg together. Spread each slice of bread with cheese mixture. Place an asparagus spear on each bread slice and roll up tightly. Brush rolls with melted butter and place on baking sheets. Cut in half or thirds. Bake at 350 degrees for 15 minutes or until browned.

Tip: Can be frozen in an airtight container. To serve, remove from freezer, brush with melted butter and bake.
