Preparation
Step 1
Sprinkle yeast over water; set aside. In a large bowl, mix flour, salt, and 2 tablespoons sugar. Cut in butter with a pastry blender or 2 knives; set aside. In another bowl, blend milk, egg, and oil; stir in yeast mixture. Pour milk mixture over flour; stir only until all ingredients are moistened. Cover and chill for 1 hour. Turn times. Roll out dough to form an 11" x 8" rectangle. In a small bowl, mix remaining sugars and cinnamon. Sprinkle 1/2 of the mixture over dough. Roll up the dough tightly, beginning on a long side. Pinch edges to seal. Wrap in plastic wrap; chill for 1 hour. Cut dough into 1/2-inch slices. Sprinkle both sides of each slice with remaining sugar mixture. Flatten each slice into a 5-inch circle. Sprinkle with more sugar if dough is sticky. Place dough circles on a 10 x 15-inch non-stick cookie sheet. Bake in a preheated 400 degrees oven for 10 to 12 minutes or until lightly browned. Place on wire rack to cool.
