Ingredients

  • BASE
  • 1 1/3 cups flour
  • 3 tablespoons icing sugar
  • 1/2 cup margarine
  • PECAN TOPPING
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup corn syrup
  • 2 tablespoons margarine, melted
  • 2 cups pecans, coarsely chopped

Preparation

Step 1

In a medium bowl, combine flour and sugar; cut in margarine with pastry blender until coarse crumbs are formed. Press well into the bottom of a greased 9" square pan.

Bake in 350F oven for 15 minutes. Let cool 10 minutes.

In a medium bowl, whisk together eggs with sugar, corn syrup and margarine. Stir in pecans. Pour evenly over base and bake 30 - 35 minutes or until set and top is golden brown.

Cool completely and cut into squares.
