- 2 pks Active Dry Yeast
- 2 cups Warm Water (105 to 115 degrees)
- 1/2 cup Sugar
- 1/4 cup Shortening
- 1 Egg
- 2 tsp. Salt
- 6 1/2 to 7 cups Flour

Step 1
Dissolve yeast in warm water in a large bowl. Stir in sugar, shortening, egg, salt and 3 cups of the flour. Beat until smooth. Stir in enough of remaining flour to make dough easy to handle.
Place dough in greased bowl; turn greased side up. Cover loosely with plastic wrap; refrigerate at least 2 hours or until ready to use.
Punch dough down; divide, shape on lightly floured surface and let rise as directed below.
Using 1/4 of dough, roll into 12-inch circle. Cut into wedges. Roll up each wedge into a crescent. Place on a lightly greased sheet, points underneath. Let rise 45 minutes. Bake at 400 degrees until brown, about 12 minutes.
