Ingredients
- 1 c. veg. Shortening
- 2 c. sugar
- 2 eggs
- 2 t. vanilla
- 5 c. sifted flour
- 2 t. baking powder
- 1 t. salt
- 1 t. soda
- 1 c. buttermilk

Preparation
Step 1
Cream shortening and sugar. Beat in eggs and vanilla. Sift together flour, baking powder, salt and soda. Add alternately with buttermilk. Child overnight. Roll small portions of dough into 1/4 “ thickness and cut into desired shapes. Keep unused dough refrigerated. Bake at 400 for 6 – 8 minutes until lightly browned around edge. Decorate with sugar or frosting. Six dozen.
