Butterscotch Bars

Ingredients

• 1/2 c sugar
• 1/2 c packed brown sugar
• 1/4 c softened butter
• 2 large egg whites
• 1 tsp vanilla
• 1 1/4 c all purpose flour
• 1/2 tsp baking powder
• 1/4 tsp salt
• cooking spray
• 1/2 c butterscotch morsels

Step 1

1. preheat oven to 350 F

2. beat sugars and butter and medium speed of a mixer until well blended (4 minutes). Add egg whites and vanilla; beat well.

3. in another bowl, wisk together flour, baking powder, and salt. Add to sugar mixture; beat at low speed until blended.

4. Spray 8-inch square baking pan. Spread batter in pan evenly; sprinkle with butterscotch morsels.

5. Bake for 28 minutes or until wooden pick comes out clean. Cool in pan. Cut into 16 squares.
