- 1/3 cup sour cream
- 2 eggs, lightly beaten
- A pinch of cardamom or nutmeg (optional)
- 2 Tbsp butter
- Salt and pepper

Before we get started, always remember to use cold water only when working to make a pie. You shall prepare and refrigerate till 2 months for ready-to-use, but make sure it is well-wrapped before you store.

Preparation to make a pie crust:
Mix flour and salt in a medium size bowl. Add vegetable shortening using a pastry blender until mixture turns crumbly. In between sprinkle water and blend until mixture holds together.
There is a certain allure with cheese for kids and adults alike. As we grow into adulthood, we deny ourselves this little joy for the prospect of cholesterol free heart. But then, it is okay to indulge once in awhile. Baking a Californian pie is really simple with garlic, cheese, eggs, parsley, sour cream, and a whole pound of mushrooms. Great for breakfast or evening snack alike, kids would love it. It’s pretty easy to make, especially if you have an extra pie crust all ready to go.
2 eggs, lightly beaten
Heat the pan and add butter on a low heat. Now, add mushrooms once the butter melts. Stir mushrooms to coat with butter and increase the heat. Keep stirring until the moisture in the mushrooms gets evaporated. Bring down the heat to low, add chopped red paprika and sauté for few minutes before adding minced garlic; stir for 3-4 minutes till the garlic turns soft and then remove from the stove.
Take a bowl and add the eggs, milk, sour cream and cream and blend them together to a nice paste. Now add a pinch of salt, freshly ground pepper, powdered cardamom or nutmeg for flavour (optional), grated cheese and chopped parsley and mix properly.
Fill the bottom of the pie crust with the sautéed mushroom. Add the mixture of cheese and blended cream over the mushrooms. Allow it to bake in the oven for 30-35 minutes till it turns brown on the top.
