Sliders with Sauteed Mushrooms

Ingredients
- 3 slices bacon
- 1 package sliced fresh mushrooms
- 1 large onion, sliced
- 1/4 teaspoon dried thyme
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
- 1 pound extra-lean ground round
- 1/4 cup ketchup
- 2 tablespoons reduced fat mayonnaise
- 8 whole wheat slider rolls

Step 1
1. Cook the bacon in a medium nonstick skillet over medium-high heat until crisp, about 4 minutes per side. Transfer to a plate covered with a paper towel, drain, and chop. Return the skillet to the heat. Add the mushrooms, onion, and thyme. Cook, stirring occasionally, until browned about 9 to 10 minutes. Stir in the garlic, sale and pepper. Cook for 2 minutes longer. Remove from the heat and stir in the bacon. Keep warm.
2. Meanwhile, form the beef into 8 patties. Heat a ridged grill pan coated with cooking spray over medium-high heat. Add the patties and cook until nicely marked and cooked through, about 3 minutes per side for medium.
3. While the patties cook, combine the ketchup and mayonnaise in a bowl. Arrange the roll bottoms on 4 plates, 2 per plate. Spread each with the ketchup mixture. Top with the patties, mushroom mixture, and roll tops. Serve hot.
