Preparation
Step 1
1. Heat oven to 400.
2. Mix yeast, milk and sugar, leave to become frothy.
3. Sift flour, baking powder and salt. Make a well and fold in yeast mixture, milk, yogurt, egg and oil. Knead well. Tightly cover bowl and keep in a warm place until doubled. To test, push a finger into the dough - it should spring back.
4. Roll out on a floured surface. Make each naan slipper shaped, about 10" long and about 6" wide tapering to 2". Sprinkle with cilantro.
5. Place on lightly greased tray, bake 10-15 mins.
This was really quite good, although didn't really taste exactly like the naan we've had in restaurants. Nice and healthy though and I liked that it was made with yogurt. Also very easy to make. I minced up cilantro and garlic in the mini-processor. Brushed some melted butter on top of the naan before baking, then brushed with the cilantro/garlic mixture - really good!
