Sweet Potatoes, Old Fashioned Candied

This recipe comes from my mother’s mother in the early 1900s.

Ingredients
- 6 medium sweet potatoes (cooked and peeled)
- 2/3 cup brown sugar (firmly packed)
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/4 cup butter

Preparation
Step 1
Oven: 375F
Cut cooked sweet potatoes in 1/2 inch slices.
Place in greased casserole dish.
Top with the brown sugar, salt and dot with butter.
Bake uncovered for 30 minutes or until glazed.
This recipe also works well using raw sweet potatoes and baking 50 minutes or until done.
Variation: add cinnamon
