Ingredients

  • 4 boneless pork loin chops, cut 3/4 inch thick (about 1 lb)
  • 1/2 tsp each salt, pepper
  • 1 Tbsp olive oil
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 3 Tbsp maple syrup
  • 3 Tbsp peach, apricot or plum preserves or jam
  • 1/2 tsp dried basil, crushed
  • 3 pears, cored and thinly sliced

Step 1

Trim fat from chops; sprinkle with salt and pepper. In a large skillet, cook chops in hot oil over medium high heat for 8 - 112 minutes or until juices run clear, turning once. Remove chops from skillet, cover to keep warm. In same skillet, melt butter over medium heat. Stir in syrup, preserves and basil. Add pears. Cook, covered, about 3 minutes or just until the pears are tender and heated thru, occasionally spooning sauce over pears. Serve chops with pears and sauce. Serve with hot buttered noodles.
