Ingredients

  • 1 1/4 Cups Sugar
  • 1 Cup Butter Crisco
  • 2 Eggs
  • 1/4 Cups Corn Syrup
  • 1 Tbsp Vanilla
  • 3 Cups Flour
  • 3/4 Tsp Baking Powder
  • 1/2 Tsp Baking Soda
  • 1/2 Tsp Salt

Preparation

Step 1

Mix sugar and shortening. Add eggs, syrup, vanilla until fluffy. Add dry ingredients, until blended. Divide dough into 4,, Shape into disk, wrap in plastic wrap. Refrigerate for 1 hour or until firm. Heat oven to 375F. Place sheets of foil on countertop for cooling cookies. Sprinkle About 1 Tbsp flour on large sheet of wax paper. Place disk of dough on floured paper; flatten slightly with hands. Turn dough over; cover with another large sheet of waxed paper. Roll dough to 1/4 inch thickness. Remove top sheet of waxed paper. Cut into desired shapes with floured cookie cutters. Place 2 inches apart on un-greased cookie sheet. Repeat with remaining dough. Sprinkle with granulated sugar. Bake one baking sheet at a time at 375F for 5-7 minutes or until edges of cookies are lightly browned. Cool 2 minutes on baking sheet. Remove cookies to foil to cool completely.
