Ingredients

  • 1 cup flour
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1 1/4 cups (packed) golden brown sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup (~2 oz) chopped walnuts, divided (1/4 cup / 1/4 cup)
  • 1/2 cup (~3 oz) white chocolate chips, divided (1/4 cup / 1/4 cup)

Preparation

Step 1

1. Preheat oven to 350F.

2. Butter and flour an 8X8X2 metal baking pan. Whisk flour, salt, and baking soda in medium bowl to blend.

3. Melt butter in heavy large saucepan over low heat. Remove from heat; add sugar and whisk until smooth. Cool mixture 2 minutes; whisk in eggs and vanilla.

4. Using flexible spatula, stir in flour mixture, then half of walnuts and half of chocolate chips.

5. Spread batter in prepared pan; sprinkle with remaining nuts and chocolate chips.

6. Bake blondies until golden, tester inserted into center comes out clean, and edges just begin to pull away from sides of pan, about 30 minutes. Cool completely in pan on rack. Cut blondies into 16 squares and serve.

Can be made 2 days ahead. Cover tightly and store at room temperature.

Makes 16 servings (bars). Each serving = 4 Weight Watchers points.
