Ingredients

  • Fruit Topping:
  • 1 15oz can Luck's Fried Apples
  • 1 T cinnamon
  • 1/2 t nutmeg
  • 1/2 c dried cranberries
  • 1 T Grand Marnier (optional)
  • Batter:
  • 2 c evaporated milk
  • 4 eggs
  • 1 T cinnamon
  • 1/4 c powdered sugar
  • pinch of salt
  • 8 medium croissants
  • 1/3 c maple syrup

Preparation

Step 1

1. Combine partially drained apples, cinnamon & nutmeg in a saucepan.
2. Warm on low heat for 5 min.
3. Turn heat off, but leave pan on burner, and add cranberries & Grand Marnier.
4. Cover for 10 minutes to plump cranberries, then remove cover.
5. Meanwhile, mix all batter ingredients in a lg bowl.
6. Cut a small piece off the top of each croissant using a sharp knife.
7. Place them in batter, soak through, then remove w/tongs.
8. Sit on plate to allow excess batter to drain off.
9. Melt a pat of butter in a skillet on low-med heat.
10. Cook croissants about 7 minutes on each side.
11. Then bake in an oven-safe pan for 10 minutes at 350F
12. Plate w/fruit & syrup.
