Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup butter, melted
  • 8 cups(4-6 bagels) cut in bite size pcs
  • 1 3-oz pkg smoked salmon(lox), chopped
  • 8 oz Swiss or Montery Jack cheese,shred
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh chives
  • 8 eggs, beaten
  • 2 cups milk
  • 1 cup cottage cheese
  • 1/4 tsp pepper

Preparation

Step 1

Place melted butter in 3 qt baking dish, spreading to cover bottom. Spread bagel pieces evenly over butter. Sprinkle lox, cheese, and chives over bagels. In a large bowl, combine eggs, milk, cottage cheese, and pepper. Pour over layers in dish.
Press down gently to moisten all ingredients. Cover and refrigerate 4-24 hours.

Preheat oven to 350. Bake uncovered 45 min or until set and edges are puffed and golden. Let stand 10 min before serving.
