Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 cup (1 small) chopped onion
  • 1 cup water
  • 1/2 cup Ortega Thick & Smooth Taco Sauce
  • 1/2 cup (4 ounce can) Ortega diced green chilies
  • 1 package (1.25 ounces) Ortega Taco Seasoning Mix
  • 1 package (12 ounces) Ortega Yellow Corn Taco Shells, broken, divided
  • 2 cups (8 ounces) Sargento Chefstyle Shredded Mild Cheddar Cheese, divided
  • Toppings: chopped tomatoes, sliced green onions

Preparation

Step 1

PREPHEAT oven to 375. Grease 11x17 inch baking dish.

COOK beef and onion until beef is browned; drain. Stir in water, taco sauce, chilies and seasoning mix. Cook over low heat for 3 to 4 minutes.

LAYER half of broken shells on bottom of prepared baking dish. Cover with half of meat sauce; sprinkle with 1 cup cheese. Repeat with remaining taco shells, meat sauce and cheese.

Bake for 20 to 25 minutes or until bubbly and cheese is melted. Top with tomatoes and geen onions.
