Ingredients
- TOPPING:
- 3 c 1% milk
- 3 c water
- 1-1/2 c steel cut oats
- 1/2 c packed dark-brown sugar
- 3/4 tsp salt
- 2 apples (such as Gala or Granny Smith), cored and diced
- 2 Tbsp packed dark-brown sugar
- 3 Tbsp sweetened dried cranberries or raising
- 3 Tbsp chopped walnuts

Preparation
Step 1
Oatmeal:
Coat a slow cooker with nonstick cooking spray (or a crock-pot liner).
Combine milk, water, the oats, 1/4 cup of the brown sugar and the salt in slow cooker. Cover and cook overnight on LOW for 9-1/2 to 10 hours.
Uncover and stir in remaining 1/4 c brown sugar. Set aside.
Stir oatmeal, spoon about 1 cup into bowls and top with desired toppings.
**It was too soupy, I added some quick cook oats. Next time, use less water or more steel-cut oats.
